Experiential Dynamic TherapyBased on psychodynamic theory (hence the D for Dynamic) which is interested in the underlying conflicts and emotions that can cause long-term difficulties. Emphasises the in-session experience of emotions (which explains the E for Experiential). The therapist is active in giving feedback about what they observe in sessions, in order to help with this aim. This is unlike more traditional types of psychotherapy or psychoanalysis in which the therapist can be perceived as ’passive’ in the process. Excellent for: depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, psychosexual problems, anger, grief, and much more. Dr Tracey Proctor offers this therapy at Peak Wellbeing, and can be contacted at tracey@a-problem-shared.co.uk
