Your Chiropractor, Matthew Pigden DC
"I had enormous benefit from seeing Matt for a mid back problem over two years ago, and after being recently diagnosed with a prolapsed disc following an injury at work, I didn’t hesitate to book in with Matt again. I was reluctant to go the surgery route offered by my consultant, so Matt put together a plan of management to help me get back to my usual self. The pain I was in has been significantly reduced, and I am much more comfortable when travelling to away games with Mansfield Town Football Club. Thanks to Matt’s amazing care, I am pleased to have avoided surgery."
"Having suffered from shin splints and back pain for several years, I’ve been astounded by Matt’s knowledge and skills. He explained to me my problems were caused by dysfunction in the spinal joints and poor foot mechanics. I completed a comprehensive video assessment, after which Matt provided me with chiropractic treatment and orthotics, recommended nine other specialists including podiatrists and orthotists, and totally rebuilt my ski boots. The connection between my body and skis is now perfect, I am no longer in pain, and my performance has increased to a level I never before thought possible. Matt has worked with the British Ski Team, and is scheduled to travel with Ellie Koyander to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, as her main health care consultant. Matt also works with other elite athletes and top British climbers.
Can Chiropractic Help me?Chiropractic can treat the following conditions:
What is Chiropractic?Chiropractic is the diagnosis and treatment of joint, nerve and muscle problems. It is mainly focused on the spine and how this affects your nervous system. Your chiropractor will treat you by gently manipulating the joints to ease stiffness, pain and improve mobility. He will also suggest ways you can improve your recovery, including exercises, postural corrections and dietary advice to optimise your health, which will reduce your chances of recurrence. Chiropractic aims to treat the cause rather than the symptoms, and helps your body to heal itself. What to ExpectYour first visit includes a full consultation and examination. Your medical history and lifestyle factors such as exercise, stress and diet are considered, followed by an examination of your body in action. Based on these findings, your chiropractor will decide if an X-Ray or MRI scan are necessary or whether it’s appropriate to refer you to your GP or another practitioner in the clinic, before treatment begins. The chiropractor will explain the cause of your complaint and how it can be resolved. You’ll also be advised of the likelihood of a recurrence, and the requirement for ongoing supportive care. Your chiropractor may use other techniques such as acupuncture, massage and nutritional therapy. We welcome questions about your treatment. If chiropractic care isn’t suitable, we’ll let you know.
